We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. We started off our day with a hike. It was surprisingly cold this Thanksgiving. I remember sweating on past holidays. We bundled up and did a hike up the Monticello trail. Later that afternoon we met up with fellow friends and law students who were still around for the holiday and had a big Thanksgiving dinner. I tried my hand at some homemade stuffing and a pumpkin pie and they turned out swell. The next day we attended the annual Barracks Thanksgiving parade. A little parade held in the Barracks shopping square. We then went to the Lighting of the Downtown Christmas tree that night. We also kept to Pickett tradition by getting a Christmas tree over the Thanksgiving holiday. Since we don't have a mountain to hike up here and cut a tree down, we ventured out to a Christmas tree farm in Standardsville and cut one down there. Jack loved it. We packed hot chocolate and donuts of course and we also had a picnic. I did a little photo shoot and we got some cute pictures.
My friend Erin was expecting her third baby boy so we decided to do a girls outing for her and go to DC/Alexandria for an overnight stay. We went out to dinner and Rachael made her do all sorts of annoying things like wear a crown in public and ask strangers to touch her belly. We stayed at a fancy hotel and did some shopping, ate cupcakes and hot chocolate, all the things girls like to do. And of course we topped it off with a Cafe Rio trip. So much fun, I will miss those girls lots.

A family picture was tough. I stacked up a bunch of stuff and put the camera on top, set the timer and ran for it. They turned out ok though.

Donuts. Extra sprinkles of course.

Packing our tree on top the car. This looks like a Subaru endorsement for sure.

I like your Christmas tree photo shoot. Char looks so much like you! Also, Jacob and Charlotte like to do the exact same things: play in the sink, play with kitchen bowls, sit on the counter to help with cooking, and help with vacuuming.
