For the first time in years, we were not driving across the country on Mother's day. So we took the opportunity to go to Virginia Beach! The beach with a two week old? Crazy but we did it. Virginia beach is about a three hour drive from Charlottesville. Our kids are pretty seasoned travelers these days so that was no big deal. Steve and Jenni Guynn went with us and we got hotel rooms next door to each other. That way once our kids were in bed, we would sneak into their room and hang out watching weird reality TV shows. Our hotel was right on the beach so we would go out and play for a few hours and then take a break. We also ate lots of delicious seafood, rented a quad tandem bike, and ate ice cream repeatedly. I think we will miss the beach the most.
