Hershrungs

It seems we have had a bit of bad luck when it comes to health lately.  I know it could be a lot worse so I am grateful for that but it can still be a challenge.  When Charlotte was born she was a little bit Jaundice so we had to take her to the doctor to have her levels checked often.  That went away and we were glad.  Then I started not feeling so well and ended up having a really bad kidney infection.  At first they were concerned it was kidney stones but thank heavens it wasn't.  Then Jack and Charlotte got sick with colds and what not.  Then at Charlotte's one month check up the doctor asked me if her belly always looked so big.  And after she pointed it out I thought yes she does seem to have a giant belly, but I just figured she was fat.  The pediatrician sent us to the hospital for an x-ray and then we went to a specialist the next day to see what was causing her stomach to be so swollen.  She seems to have trouble passing stool and everything was getting backed up.  He thought maybe it could be Hershrungs disease where part of the colon isn't working properly to push stool along and they have to surgically remove it.  This may still be a possibility but right now we are hoping it isn't and that she just has a tight rear end that doesn't allow her to pass stool as frequently as she should.  So we are taking some measures to try and help things work properly (I won't share the details) and we go back to the specialist in about 2 weeks to see if things are improving.  She seem to be doing better and her stomach isn't so huge these days.  She is generally a happy baby.  We didn't even know anything was wrong because she is such a good baby. Hopefully this takes care of the problem.  So with all of this nonsense and a few other health ailments here and there, I am so sick of doctor visits.  But like I said, I know it could be much worse and everyone has to take their turn sometime right?  I am just thankful for the health we do have!
