Moving

Moving day was here before we knew it.  Bittersweet really.  Excited to move onto a new chapter in our lives but also so sad to leave our home of three years and all our wonderful friends behind.  Moving is never fun but considering that we had a brand new baby, it went pretty well.  Logan and I have gotten it down to a science.  And by that I mean, we are tired of moving and just throw everything in a box.  I took a few pictures of Cville before we left.  So green and pretty... and filled with ticks.  I just have to keep reminding myself of the ticks and then I don't feel as bad.  I flew to Utah with Logan's parents.  That was a miracle.  They made the plane with in minutes.  For real.  Bruce accidentally left his wallet at the gas station that morning on our way to the airport.  Logan dropped me off because I would need all the time I could get trying to manage the three kids on the plane.  I figured they would be right behind me.  But I guess they kept running into problems.  I sat on the plane wondering if they'd make it.  I was nervous to fly all alone with the kids.  I waited and waited.  Finally the stewardess told everyone to buckle up.  I teared up for a minute and then was like, Ok, looks like it's just you.  You can do it.  I got us all buckled.  We were about to take off and suddenly on the plane ran Bruce and Alice.  Bless their hearts.  They were a big help with Jack and Char so I could tend to Holden.  It was a long day but not as terrible as it could have been.  Logan on the other hand had to finish cleaning and packing and then make the drive across the country with Craigory.  Haha.  I don't know who got the worse end of the deal.  It took him four days to get here.  I was worried he would get tired so I made him take it slow.  They both survived and soon we were all reunited in Utah!

The view of our backyard.  We basically lived in the forest.  Jack loved to just roam...thus all the ticks.
Another view.  The kids loved to ride their bikes and sled down this big hill.

I loved the ivy that grew on trees.

The back of our apartment in Copeley.  We were on the bottom floor.  They weren't fancy by all means but we loved our backyard.

The downtown mall.  Don't be fooled, it's not really a mall.  Just lots of shops and delicious places to eat.  The children's museum was also here.  We would go a couple times a month.  And more often than not, we also got a cupcake at Cappellinos Crazy Cakes too.  My favorite, until I got food poisoning.  Logan and I went here a lot for date night too.  Yummiest food.
Grandma Alice entertaining the kids so we could pack.

Jack caught a moth and couldn't wait to show it to Grandma Alice.
We got some UVA gear for everyone at Mincer's.  The Grandparents entertaining the kids.

Char fell in love with Grandpa Bruce while they visited.  They were such cute little buddies.

4 a.m. and off to Utah.
Ready to fly.  I bought these harnesses for our flight.  They were much easier than lugging car seats.
And Logan and Craigory's adventures begin.  I insisted that Logan documented their trip.  Lot's of selfies of him and Craig.
Poor kitty.
Taking a break at the hotel.
Pit stop.

Logan's favorites.  They kept him awake.

Oh Prairie dog town.  We stopped here on our second cross country drive.  Such a gem.
The 800 signs that lead up to it.

We made it!  Relaxing at grandmas.

UVA Graduation

Finally the big day came!  There were a few events leading up to graduation.  They held a reception a couple days before at the UVA law campus.  They served fancy foods and people mingled.  It was mostly an event to bring your family to but Logan's parents were not arriving until the next day.  So we went up and just stuffed our faces with fancy foods.  We also did a quick breakfast with friends at the downtown mall farmers market.  So yummy and a fun little break from packing to relax with friends. Logan's parents arrived.  Not without troubles though.  They had some problems on their flight over but thankfully made it.  Our dear friends the Mellors offered their apartment so Logan's parents could stay and be more comfortable.  Our apartment was pretty cramped already.  So they stayed there.  Graduation day came.  It was on a Sunday (unfortunately).  We walked up to campus that day a little early and found a spot to sit.  The weather was perfect.  Not too hot and humid yet.  Logan sat with his class.  Bruce and Alice were so helpful during the ceremony to entertain the kids.  After the ceremony we ran over to take pictures with friends before everyone dispersed with family.  It was a tad emotional and the girls choked up a bit.  We said a quick goodbye and took more pictures with Logan's parents.  The kids were definitely done with taking pictures when the day was over.
Once graduation was over we started hitting the packing hard.  But we needed breaks and it was fun to take Bruce and Alice around town to places we liked to go and loved.  Jack and Char were loving having them there so much and we were so glad they got to come out to stay.
At the law reception.
Grabbing brunch with the Watts and Hardings at the farmers market.
Graduation was held outside on the law school lawn.
Grandma Alice entertaining the kids.

Our graduating friends.  The Watts, Hardings, Guynns, and Bunkers.  When we all came to law school there were three children between all of us.  When we left there was nine.  Such good friends.  We are like family.  Miss them lots.
The older buds.  Addie, Noah, Liam, Jack and Charlotte.
The boys.  John, Steve, Derek, Logan and Adam.

The wives.  Erin, me, Vanessa, Jenni and Rachael.
Me and Loge.  So proud of him.
Char fell in love with Grandpa Bruce while he visited.
You haven't seen much of Holden in this post.  That's because he pretty much slept that whole month.
The law campus.  We took so many walks up here to see dad.
I don't know why he is wearing this hat, he just is.
I wish we had gotten better pictures with his parents.  The kids had had enough and were ready to go.  We did the best we could.
Jack started getting creative in his pictures as you can see here...
We did a quick photo session at the UVA Rotunda with Jenni and Steve.  We both wanted a few pictures in front of it.  Jenni and Steve were great, took like 20 minutes and we were done.  My family was another story...
Jack was way cranky to be there.  Even after Steve promised to buy him a new Lightening McQueen.  Jenni took like 100 pictures and we got one decent one.
