White Trash
We attended the derby Saturday night and loved every minute of it. Of course Logan and I were our fashionably 15 minutes late and it was sold out ( I blame Wal Mart). But that didn't stop us from attending. We joined the dozens of other white trash moochers and enjoyed the derby for free through the fence (in fact, now that I think about it, I can't believe we were considering paying in the first place). The trucks were far more entertaining than the cars. I'd like to see more trucks at derby's and maybe a few airplanes to spice things up.

Farewell to Friendship
Farewell Tippetts! May the flesh eating parasites of Peru spare your hides that you may return to us whole and perhaps we may be friends again someday. So long suckers!

Come Sail Away
I can't believe summer has already come and gone. Boo. Logan starts school again tomorrow which means I'll be watching a lot more chick flicks alone in the evenings.
August has brought wonderful things. The Cache County Fair, oh how we love animals. As well as a Pickett family reunion, and Bear Lake with our good friends the Bennetts! We couldn't have asked for a better way to say farewell to summertime.

We finally moved. Air conditioning, washer and dryer, dishwasher, carpet. Ahh we're in heaven. We slept out on the trailer next to our stuff because we couldn't move it in until the next day. A little paranoid?

Gettin Tippy with it
To celebrate the pioneers and their many triumphs crossing the plains, we decided to do our own triumphing in the wilderness of Green Canyon... with a few modern convinces ( car, tent, sleeping bag, four wheeler, bottled water, grocery store food, flashlight, etc; however The Tippetts did forget to pack toothbrushes). We were accompanied by our good friends, the Tippetts, and were also graced with a visit from the Watts! We grilled delicious steaks, grilled corn on the cob, and cooked dutch oven birthday cobbler (it was Jenna's big 23 on the 23rd!). We had a fun evening of chatting around the campfire and stuffing our faces. I also had a little birthday surprise for Jenna- a glow in the dark crown and personalized rat t-shirt. When we picked our camping spot, we failed to realize that we were in the middle of a bike trail. We constantly had strange bikers passing through our camp. Jenna and Brad were so proud of these hard working bikers, they decided to recycle the toilet paper that we had toilet papered their tent with, to make a finish line for the bikers. We cheered as bikers came to the bottom. The next morning we went on a leisurely 4 wheeler ride. When we attempted to drive home, the canyon entrance happened to be blocked by the North Logan Pioneer Parade. We were forced to watch the parade. This normally would not be a problem except we were covered with dirt, sweat, and were in need of a tooth brush; but you can't help love a parade!

Way Behind
Well I'm way behind on posting so this is going to be very brief. A lot has happened lately. The highlights are as follows: I'm pregnant, due December 25th; Logan took the LSAT and aced it- 170, now we begin the long process of applying for law school; we backpacked Havasupai- AMAZING, yet we all thought we were going to die at the end; the 4th was wonderful-fireworks, parades, boating, and BBQs. There it is, and now a gallery of pictures to follow!

Logan and I really thought we killed Lafe by bringing him along. Perhaps it was all those extra rocks we stuffed in his pack when he wasn't looking.

The group. Only half made it out alive.

As Lynn Pickett would say, Just let those mules pass...
Our half of the group that hiked out late Sunday evening to avoid the heat. We look so fresh and alive. Little do we know whats coming...

As I said, only half the group made it out alive.
