Since baby wasn't coming and I reached my due date, they made me schedule and induction, although everyone claimed I would surely have the baby before then. A week went by and the induction date came and no baby. So early that morning I got ready, grabbed my stuff and we left. Our dear friends the Bylunds came over to watch the kids and they later took them to Whitney's house. We have such great friends. Anyway, so we drove to the hospital. This was all so weird compared to Jack and Char when we frantically rushed to the hospital when I went into labor with them, hoping we would make it there in time. This was much more calm. When I got there they gave me a pill and stripped my membranes. I almost passed out. Darn body, does what it wants. The nurse said I had a vagel response, my body's fight or flight and drops my blood pressure so then I almost pass out. This is why I sometimes pass out when having blood drawn. So after I recomposed myself, we just hung out. Logan did a little studying since finals were coming up. I took a nap. Then some contractions started. The nurse said I could have my epidural but for some reason I felt I was supposed to be in great pain before I could get one. I waited a little longer and then took her advice and got one. He did a great job and soon I was numb. I took another nap and now it was afternoon. The doctor was going to come in about an hour and break my water to get things going. Suddenly I started feeling uncomfortable. I pushed my button a few times to get more meds but it didn't help much. Then I felt my water break. Or so I thought, I was pretty numb. Not sure what was happening, I told Logan we should call the nurse. She came in to check me. Once she did she suddenly seemed a bit panicked and hit a call button and seven nurses were suddenly in my room. The baby was coming. She tried paging the doctor but he wasn't going to make it. She told me not to push and I seriously wasn't doing a thing, just sitting there, but this boy was ready to be here. And suddenly there he was. The nurses had to catch him. The cord was wrapped around his neck but they handled it great and soon he was in my arms. All 8lbs 6 ounces of him. Well first they announced it was a boy! (remember we didn't find out) It was a crazy ten minutes and happened so fast. We were thrilled. They cleaned me up and soon we were in the recovery room.
I was really nervous about having this baby all alone with no help. But we were so blessed and the delivery and recovery was remarkable. I felt so good so fast. I had him on Monday and that Saturday I took all the kids to a birthday party. If I could have pregnancy/deliveries with all my kids like that, I could have five more.
We rested that day and then later that evening Logan got the kids and brought them for a visit. They liked playing on my bed and eating my food. They were mildly interested in Holden. Logan took them home and put them to bed and my friend Lauren stayed at our house while Logan came back again to hang out with me. We had shakes and enjoyed Holden and then he went back home. The next day he brought the kids for another visit. The next morning we took our little bundle of joy home.
