We spent a day at our favorite place, Bear Lake. It was a short trip but we packed in as much fun as we could and it was well worth the drive. The kids loved it. We played all day in the sun and the sand. Holden was a trooper as usual. We also went to the Tracey Aviary and spent the afternoon feeding birds. It was surprisingly a lot of fun. Their favorite part was feeding sardines to the pelicans.
Jack has been into sharks for sometime now. He has a game on the ipad he is obsessed with called Hungry Shark. We've checked books out from the library and he loves anything shark. So this year when Shark Week was starting on the Discovery channel, I knew I had to get Jack involved. So each day we had a shark activity and watched some Shark Week. Jack and even Char loved it and I hope we do it each year. I made Jack a Shark watermelon that combined his two loves: sharks and fruit. His mind was blown.
We love visiting Gunnison. We spent some time up Mayfield Canyon with Logan's family and enjoyed it so much. Nothing beats a Bruce Burger, except when it's a Bruce Burger cooked in the mountains. Topped with fresh corn on the cob, yummm.
Char celebrated her halfy birthday. A pink cupcake of course for the princess. My mom also had a birthday and my sister came up with the idea to take her to the outdoor play Seven Brides for Seven Brothers with her sisters and mom. It was so much fun. Little Holden had to tag along because he isn't a fan of the bottle but he was a champ and his cute little self.
We also spent more time at Thanksgiving point since I randomly bought a pass there. Jack loves the dino museum and Char always wants a pony ride.
