Utah, with it's mountains and valleys...

The moment we told Jack we would be going to Utah for a visit, he started packing and praying that our moving truck wouldn't tip over.  Although we repeatedly reminded him we weren't moving to Utah yet, just visiting, he couldn't seem to accept that and continued to talk about.  Well almost two months later, the day finally came to go to Utah.  It was the typical long day of flights, layovers and driving, but we made it.  We found tickets in mid January which were a fraction of what we normally paid, which meant everyone was back in school and working.  But between both families, we always had someone to hang out with.  Jack and Char loved every minute of it.

We were in Utah during Logan's birthday.  He got the special treatment of a delicious meal made by Alice and the special plates to eat it on. 

I did a combined cake for the three of them since Jack was Decemeber, Logan January and Char February.

Round Three

 And somehow we are already on our third child.  How does time pass by so fast?  I hate doing the dreaded selfie pregnancy pictures but know I will appreciate them later so here they are.  Not much happens until around 20 weeks so I usually start there.  We decided to not find out the gender since I am prepared with both boy and girl stuff.  I thought that if I changed my mind I could just call up the doc and tell him I want to know but I guess they don't document it if you don't want to find out so that ship has sailed.  A little bit about baby 3:  we had a hard time trying to decide when to get pregnant because of all the big changes coming up (graduation, moving, the bar, new job, etc.)  So we took our best guess and did get pregnant and I was due in January  (as in right now, I would have another baby right now, crazy) but unfortunately I miscarried :( By the time my body got back to normal, we had one more small window that we thought we could have a baby before all the craziness began, otherwise we would have to wait a while to try again.  And we got pregnant.  I am due April 15 which means we will have the baby, Logan will go into a cave and study for finals, graduation, moving, trek across the country, take the bar, and start a new job.  It's going to be a whirlwind.  We are excited though.  Also we had a master plan to have a secret baby.  It was going to work perfect.  We weren't going to tell anyone we were pregnant and then just send a picture message when it was born.  And to top it off I due kind of close to April Fool's day so that would have added extra confusion.  But then my sister claimed she was coming to visit in April and I had to fess up that I was pregnant.  It was have been so impressive if we could have pulled it off.

The break

It breaks my heart to think our last official Christmas school break is over.  Never have we known a life without school breaks- over a month of vacation for Christmas.  But at least I can say we really enjoyed our last break.  Pretty much all our friends were gone visiting family for the break and since we decided to stay here we had lots of time to kill as a family.  We had big plans to go to DC or Williamsburg and do a mini vacation but the weather wasn't the best so we just stuck around Cville.  It was relaxing and nice to take lots of naps and just hang out.  We did start to get a little bored near the end but that worked out great because we went to Utah for a week in January.  A few pictures of us playing and hanging out.  P.S. I recognize these pictures are mostly of Charlotte.  I try to keep my picture distribution even between the two kids but I figure I have lots of catching up to do with Charlotte to make up for the two years I documented everything Jack did.  Also, Jack never holds still so it's like trying to photograph a cheetah.

Char has suddenly really taken to Disney cars.  This is great because we have a million.  These have pretty much been Jack's life for the past four years.  It makes me laugh how she likes cars but mostly just the cute/girl ones.

We hiked the famous Hump back rock.  It was quite a hike for a pregnant lady with a kid on her back but somehow we all managed to get to the top before it was dark.
