Holiday Fun

Spring is filled with lots of fun little holidays.  We have been getting ready for Easter and there are lots of egg hunts in our future.  I changed Jack's water table from it's usual dirt and trucks to a Easter theme which he really liked.  St Patricks day was fun.  We read Green Eggs and Ham and ate green eggs and ham.  We also went a friends house for some St Patricks treats.  And back in Feburary, the night before I had Charlotte we celebrated our good friend John Harding's birthday with a Mardi Gras themed party.

This is the cute water table I made for Jack.  It's all coordinated and cute.

Then along comes Jack and his boyism and trucks.  Why must everything have trucks in it?

Cute Rachael Harding and her delicious buffet of Mardi Gras food.  So good!

Jack and Liam loved the Mardi Gras beads.

Our masks.  Little did I know I would be giving birth about five hours later.  Sick.

"Little Gwill"

Jack loves Charlotte... a little too much.  I think that because Jack and Logan wrestle and play so physical that Jack thinks this is how you communicate love to someone.  He is often caught body slamming her, running his dump trucks into her and just squeezing her.  Sometimes he is doing it just because he can but more often than not he seems to just be really excited and doesn't know how to show her.  Every morning when we get up she is usually still asleep.  Jack demands, "Go get her!"  And every night as we put him to bed he has to have a horsey ride on daddy's back with baby sister.  He usually refers to her as Baby Sisty or my favorite, Little Gwill.  I think they will be good buddies someday.

I left the room for two minutes and I came back to this.  Jack decided to share his cars with Charlotte.

Char Char

This little girl is already a month old.  My goodness it goes by fast.  Here are a few pictures to see the changes she has gone through.  She looks like a different baby in almost every picture.
She had jaundice for a while.  I couldn't tell at the time but now I see it.  She looks like a yellow squash.
Still at the hospital in this picture.  She is so swollen and looks really fat.

Just a few hours old.

The first time I actually got her dressed up.  I love this  kangroo shirt I screened her.  Should have made me one.

Hanging with dad.

Tummy time.  This little girl loves her tummy time.  She will even fall asleep like this sometimes.

Her baby acne exploded around three weeks.  Poor girl.  It seems to just be going away.

First day at church.

"I have two grandmas"

We were so blessed to have both grandmas stay with us after Charlotte was born.  I don't know how you have a baby without grandmas.  Jack was spoiled with fun activities, attention, and playing.  He loved every minute of it.  Alice came first just a few days after Charlotte was born.  Charlotte came a week early so it was super generous of Alice to drop everything, jump on a plane, and come stay with us.  Jack loved playing dump trucks with Alice and race them up and down the hallway.  I don't how she did it, even I can't bend over and push a dump truck for hours.  Jack still calls the blue dump truck "grandmas dump truck".  The weather was odd while Alice was here and unfortunately a bit cold and wet.  It even snowed one day.  Jack and Alice would go for walks and play outside for hours and let me rest.  After Grandma Alice left, Grandma Kay arrived.  Grandma Kay had lots of fun things planned like a treasure hunt and dirt play dough.  Jack still plays with his dirt play dough daily since she left.  And Jack cried when we took Grandma to the airport because I think he thought he was going on the airplane with her. It was so nice to have the help and rest and we can never thank them enough.  Jack is always telling us how he has two Grandmas and he says it with such pride.  Thanks Grandmas!
Snow day.  It has snowed twice this winter.
Jack would throw snow balls at Grandma Alice through the glass door and she would pretend to fall over.  He thought this was hilarious.

Jack got to play in the mud and rain a lot with Grandma Alice.

We treated Grandma to some Sweet Frog frozen yogurt.

Giving Charlotte her first bath.

Dirt play dough!  Jack loved this.

We went to the park one day where Jack made a buddy.  I obviously didn't do very well taking pictures while my mom was there.

Catch up

I  have fallen behind  so here is a quick catch up.  For our Valentines date this year we knew Charlotte would  be making her arrival soon so we didn't plan anything, but we did go to the family housing Valentines date for some delicious Indian food the Saturday before V Day.  We can't pass up a free meal and we love Indian food.  We had fun having a quick night out and I am glad we went because I am sure it will be our last for a long time.  We also had a date night and it was my turn to plan.  We hosted the Christenson World Cup in our very own apartment.  Turns out we are both terrible at golf and our homemade golf course didn't help.  It was still fun though.  We had a surprise visit from Logan's cousin Rudy and his wife Kristin.  Jack was thrilled to have a little buddy to play with and he and Nixon were instant friends.  They were super nice and treated us to a yummy lunch.  We are excited to see more of them.  Jack has been sick so much these last couple months.  I swear he has a permanent runny nose.  He has been germ free since Charlotte has been born so thats a blessing.  And Logan won some money for a paper he wrote in one of his classes.  He never ceases to amaze me.  And that is the quick update!
Dinner at the Indian Restaurant.

Our snack for the Christenson World Cup.

We had to wear polo shirts.  It wasn't a sexy date for sure.

One hole was outside in the dark.

Nixon sharing a snack with Jack.

Jack's pediatrician is right next to a John Deere Store so whenever he has to go his reward is to go see the tractors afterward.

Logan's smart brain pays off from time to time.
